The Michelin Guide's review
The Historical Museum of the City of Vienna traces the city's history with an incredible variety of objects. Some of the exceptional exhibits include a circular plan of Vienna (1529) and a Pompeiian Drawing Room (1800). Paintings such as Klimt's Love (1895) and a Self Portrait with Outstretched Fingers by Egon Schiele (1911) are alone worth a visit. Visitors must pinpoint their own particular centres of interest among the wealth of treasures exhibited in the museum.
