The Michelin Guide's review
Set in 23 acres of English-style gardens that invite exploration, this castle-like Italianate villa (1927, Edward Buehler Delk) was the home of oilman Waite Phillips. Donated to the City of Tulsa in 1938, it is today a renowned museum of fine and decorative arts of the Americas and Europe, Asia and Africa. The collection ranges from classical antiquities to 20C pieces, and includes Italian Renaissance oils and sculptures. Bouguereau's The Shepherdess (1890s) highlights the 19C French Salon. The lower level has Native American art and artifacts, and Taos-style furniture. The upper level has American and Asian galleries, the latter highlighted by Chinese ceramics and Japanese screen paintings.
