The Michelin Guide's review
The most interesting and least damaged Cistercian ruins in Ireland are found just to the south of Kilkenny. This abbey, founded around 1180 by monks from Baltinglass abbey, is particularly famous for its beautiful carvings, which include a group of mourners in the church's north transept, an engraved stone depicting two knights in coats of mail in the south transept chapel, and a knight and his lady in the cloisters.
