The Michelin Guide's review
The façade, porch and three western rows of the cathedral, begun in 1120, are Romanesque. The portal has a tympanum illustrating the Adoration of the Magi and Bishop St. Bertrand. The rest of the building is Gothic. After the cloister and treasure, explore the remarkable canons' chancel (1525-1535) made of splendid Renaissance wood panelling, a blend of Toulousan and Italian art. The rood screen closing off the chancel, the bishop's throne and stalls are richly decorated. The (15C) mausoleum of St. Bertrand adjoins the chancel.
