The attractive market at Shengcun, attended mostly by Yi and Hani women, sells a variety of foodstuffs such as sugar cane, cabbage, spinach and small black pigs. On sunny days, the rain capes made from woven palm leaves come in useful as parasols. The market is held on the days of the Rabbit, Sheep and Pig (dates vary, so check locally).
