Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
It is the most representative building of Muslim sacred architecture in the Balkans and the most important place of worship in the country. Built in the Persian-Ottoman style from 1530, the mosque owes its beauty to the delicate lines and harmonious proportions of its architecture. Inside, the rich oriental wall decorations and extracts from the Koran give life to this complex, which also includes a 45m-high minaret and a Koranic school.
