The Michelin Guide's review
Ravel is one of the finest castles of the Puy-de-Dôme. The façade's walls and towers date from feudal times, the main courtyard is 17C, the west wing is 18C, while the northwest tower is undergoing major restoration work. Visitors can tour 13 lavishly appointed rooms with wainscoting and parquet floors, tapestries, works of art, antique furniture and mementoes of the Estaing family. In the formal garden, planted with orchards, is a water feature built out of Volvic stone.
