Ponta Negra is THE beach of Manaus. An archetypal Brazilian beach, lined with tall buildings, frequented by body-conscious young people, with futevolley grounds marked out, myriad little restaurants and bars blasting out forró music. An odd sort of miniature Copacabana in the middle of the Amazon, where the ocean has been replaced by the Rio Negro.
