The Michelin Guide's review
This museum, composed of two spaces separated by a garden, was designed to house the exceptional collection of Calouste Gulbenkian, an art lover born in 1869, who bequeathed his fortune to Portugal upon his death in 1955. This collection is made up of pieces of great value and particularly rich in oriental and European art. The museum also holds an impressive collection of modern and contemporary Portuguese and international art, presented on a rotating basis.
