The Michelin Guide's review
Measuring 214m/702ft in height and 1 314m/4 307ft in length, this spectacular dam is the largest arch-and-buttress dam in the world. Named after a former prime minister of Quebec and inaugurated in 1968, the dam regulates the water supply to all the power stations of the Manicouagan-Outardes complex. The dam itself forms an immense 65km/40mi-diameter ring-shaped reservoir.
