Facing Kratie province, the best way to explore the vast island on the Mekong is by bicycle. A 9km/5.5mi bike trail allows you to tour the island while enjoying the shade of the mango trees and giant bamboo groves. As you cycle through rice paddies, tomato or watermelon fields and grapefruit tree plantations, slaloming between the odd scooter and oxen carts (the only other vehicles allowed on the island), you will get a glimpse of the traditional and rural Cambodia.
