The castle was built in the Renaissance style by two Florentine architects at the behest of King Sigismund I. The immense inner courtyard, framed on three sides by three superimposed galleries of columns and arcades, is stunning. The State apartments are the castle's main draw. The lavish Royal private apartments are richly decorated and hung, in particular, with Flemish tapestries. Don't miss the Crown treasury, the armoury or the tower.
