The Michelin Guide's review
Inaugurated in 2004, the Scottish Parliament Building is located at the corner of Canongate and Horse Wynd, opposite the Queen's Gallery. The original design is credited to the Catalonian architect Enric Miralles. As for the outside, he courted controversy by drawing on modern architecture for the complex. The interior is even more spectacular: the Debating Chamber with its tiers of seats lies beneath huge glass roof panels supported by oak rafters.
