Castres Cathedral
Michelin Guide
Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
The cathedral was built on the site of a Benedictine abbey-church founded in the 9C. The (17-18C) interior is exuberantly Baroque, with a canopied high altar supported by Caunes marble columns, a choir surrounded by four marble statues, and paintings by the Chevalier de Rivalz from the Charterhouse in Saïx in the side chapels.
