This is a modern theatre that offers far more than good shows. The building in which it is housed, built by Ricardo Bofill, is an architectural synthesis of modernity and classicism. Entry is through a glass vestibule designed like a greenhouse. The halls are magnificent. The one in which the larger performances are given takes the form of a classical amphitheatre; the smaller one is the setting for more intimate shows.
