Carrer del Bisbe skirts the small square, Plaça Garriga i Bachs. The monument that adorns one of its sides, dedicated to the people of Barcelona who died during the Napoleonic occupation, is by sculptor Josep Llimona (1864-1934). As you walk towards Plaça Sant Jaume, you will see the façade of the Palau de la Generalitat, linked by a neo-Gothic gallery (1929) on stellar vaulting to the old Canons' Houses, a remarkable example of 14C construction.
