This zoo is home to over 500 mammals (including some 20 species of primates) and birds (including parrots, budgerigars, lories and pink flamingos from Cuba) on its 5ha site, which is planted with around 100 palm trees. Five species of kangaroo in semi-liberty co-exist with a white tiger, snow leopards, maned wolves, red pandas, and Asian short-clawed otters; its aviaries also feature birds and lemurs. The zoo participates in programmes aimed at protecting endangered species and conserving natural habitats.
