Beer and fire are at the heart of this establishment, whose name translates as "Malt & Wood". Next to the Beerze family brewery, which is steeped in history, there is an American-style bar with a stone pizza oven at the front. The back of the restaurant has a raw industrial feel. The chefs like to work with the Josper charcoal oven, parrilla grill and Oklahoma smoker to infuse their dishes with smoky flavours. For example, they put a unique twist on vitello tonnato by searing the veal on charcoal. Of course, meat takes centre stage in these generous and ingredient-led dishes, but there are also vegetarian and fish options on the menu to whet your appetite.
