Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
This square in the heart of the town is surrounded by sober and austere palazzi. Inset with twin bays, the Palazzo Pretorio stands alongside a massive crenellated tower which takes its nickname of Torre del Porcellino (piglet tower) from the wild boar carved on its upper section. The Palazzo dei Priori opposite dates from the same period and is decorated with the emblems of Florentine governors.
