The high plateaus of the Soutpansberg mountain chain are home to the Venda people who came here in the early 18C. Their traditional villages are composed of circular clay huts with thatched roofs, some decorated with geometric patterns. Certain sacred sites can be visited, such as Phiphidi Falls and Funduzi Lake, as well as pottery workshops - a highlight of Venda culture.
