This imposing memorial, inaugurated on 5 April 1980, is a tribute to President Tchang Kai-shek. Its tall pyramid represents the geographic and cultural heart of Taipei and stands in the centre of a 25ha/62-acre park, also home to the lavish pavilions of two national theatres.
