Schladming Tauern

Well worth the diversions
Natural site
The Michelin Guide's review
Framed by the Radstadt Tauern and the Wölz Tauern, this chain runs for around 40km above the wide Enns Valley, opposite the majestic Dachstein range. The contrast between the two mountain chains is remarkable: the Dachstein is characterised by limestone rock and steep barren slopes, while the Schladming Tauern is mainly composed of crystalline rocks and is riddled by long mainly wooded valleys that are easily accessible. Paradise for hikers and skiers!
