The Villa des Cinq Parties du Monde was built by the tragic actress's son, Maurice. It houses a light-hearted exhibition which you can work your way around with an audioguide (with texts spoken by Fanny Ardant). You will get to know more about the extraordinary personality and tumultuous life of this great actress and in particular her relationship with the island and its inhabitants. Inside the Fort of Sarah Bernhardt, where she made her home, the decor has been convincingly recreated. The windows look out over the lighthouse and the waves that come crashing against the rocks.
