Designed by Carlo Rossi and dominated by the statue of the poet Pushkin, Arts Square is as its name indicates a hymn to literature, painting and sculpture. It contains St. Petersburg's most prestigious museums and theatres, including the Russian Museum (housed in St. Michael's Palace), the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the Brodsky Museum, the Mikhaylovsky Theatre and the Musical Comedy Theatre.
