The Piazza del Duomo, reached through Piazza della Cisterna, is lined with old palaces, seven towers and the sober collegiate church. The piazza has a majestic, almost solemn appearance, yet is also imbued with a typically Tuscan tranquillity thanks to the light, the ochre colour of the buildings and the square's innate overall elegance.
