Weapons, gold ingot moulds, chains and iron shackles used for slaves, furniture... The Museu da Inconfidência, housed in the former municipal chamber and prison, is dedicated to the city's history, and in particular the gold rush period and independence movement, of which Tiradentes remains the symbol. The museum boasts a real rarety: a clandestine edition (1788), in French, of the American Constitution.
