The old village school houses an exceptional collection of Picts steles sculpted from red sandstone (7-10C) that were discovered in the region. Cross-shaped flagstones, tombs and various fragments display the life and art of the Picts. Even if not everything is known about these stones, these monuments are the only indication of the customs, clothing, weapons and tools of the Picts.
