Kikuseidai, ("where it is possible to catch the stars") on Mount Maya (698m/ft) and 30min from Kobe on the Maya View Line (cable-car), probably commands the finest view over Kobe, Osaka, Akashi bridge and Awaji island. Unlike the urban anarchy present on Mount Rokko, the viewing platform here blends in with the landscape. It is possible to camp overnight to make the most of the glittering stars as they mingle with the lights around the bay of Osaka. A truly mesmerising vision!
