Some 70 farms and rural buildings typical of the country north of the Elbe and dating from the 16C to the 19C are reconstructed in this open-air museum (Schleswig-Holsteinisches Freilichtmuseum) and grouped into hamlets according to their geographical origin. Local craftsmen demonstrate traditional skills in the forge, potter's workshop, old loom, mill and old-fashioned bakehouse.
