The Michelin Guide's review
The Isle of Wight has been a holiday destination since Queen Victoria made Osborne her country retreat. Visitors continue to flock here, attracted by the mild climate and varied scenery. To the west, the landscape is hilly, while its eastern shores boast lovely beaches including Sandown and Shanklin. To the north is Cowes, Britain's premier yachting town which hosts major regattas.
