The Michelin Guide's review
This superbly carved Pictish sandstone slab (now under glass), which dates from the 9C, is unique in Scotland. Three sides have decorative carving. The fourth side, the most spectacular, is narrative and depicts horsemen, warriors and headless corpses. The meaning of the stone is an enigma but it is thought it may commemorate a battle.
