Established on a hillside overlooking the Plaine de France, tucked away in woodland, this semi-defensive 16C castle has preserved its elegant interior decoration intact. It houses the fabulous decorative art collections of the National Renaissance Museum, the only one in France devoted to this period. The remarkable array of 16C to early-17C furniture, wood panelling, tapestries and embroideries, and ceramics and enamels, comes mainly from France, Italy and the former Netherlands.
