Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Built between 1929 and 1932, this villa is a fine example of modernist architecture, combining aesthetic with practical considerations. In the suburbs of Roubaix, Paul Cavrois, a textile magnate, called upon Robert Mallet-Stevens (1886-1945) a major inter-war architect, to design the house, furniture, garden and pool. The result is a "global" work of art, open to visitors since 2015, after almost ten years of restoration.
