This reserve is an extension of the Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas. It has been heavily deforested over the years to provide firewood for the glassworks at Castril. The ensuing erosion has resulted in the spectacular relief visible today. Vultures and golden eagles glide silently and menacingly in the skies above.
