The Michelin Guide's review
This museum highlights the relationship between Picasso and Barcelona, where he trained as an artist and lived from 1895 until he left for Paris (1903). The section dedicated to his youth is remarkable; it contains drawings from his childhood, freestyle exercises and works of academic inspiration. The Las Meninas series, inspired by the famous painting by Velázquez, comprises no fewer than 57 oils with extraordinary variations.
